0. Booking, Deposits & Cancellations

To ensure the quality of our events and cover necessary upfront arrangements, a deposit is required to secure your reservation.

Non-Refundable Deposit: All deposits paid to The Shanghai Squad are strictly non-refundable.

Participant Cancellation: If you choose to cancel your participation for any reason (including personal emergencies, schedule changes, or medical issues), the deposit will be forfeited and cannot be refunded.

Event Cancellation by Organizer: In the rare event that we (The Shanghai Squad) must cancel an activity due to extreme weather or organizational issues, a full refund of the deposit will be issued.

1. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in Activities organized by The Shanghai Squad. You understand that these Activities (including outdoor events, social gatherings, or travel) carry inherent risks, both known and unknown, including but not limited to:

Physical injury or illness.

Traffic accidents or travel-related delays.
-
Loss or damage to personal property.
-
Unforeseen actions of third parties.

You expressly agree to assume all risks associated with your participation. You agree that you are solely responsible for your own safety and well-being at all times.

2. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Shanghai Squad, its organizers, employees, and volunteers shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation. This includes any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the ordinary negligence of the organizers.

3. Our Commitment to Assist (Emergency Support)

While The Shanghai Squad assumes no legal liability for accidents or injuries, we prioritize the safety and community spirit of our members. In the unlikely event of an emergency, we are committed to providing humanitarian assistance.

This assistance includes, but is not limited to:

Emergency Coordination: Assisting in contacting local emergency services (Ambulance/Police/Fire).

Communication Support: Providing language translation support to facilitate communication with local authorities or medical staff.

Contact Protocols: Assisting in notifying your designated emergency contacts.

Please Note: This assistance is provided as a gesture of goodwill and does not constitute an admission of liability or fault. Any costs incurred (such as medical bills, transport fees, or legal fees) remain the sole responsibility of the participant.

4. Insurance Recommendation

We strongly recommend that all participants obtain their own comprehensive Personal Accident Insurance and/or Travel Insurance prior to participating in our Activities to cover potential medical costs or personal property loss.

5. Medical Fitness

By joining an event, you certify that you are physically fit and have no medical conditions that would make your participation hazardous to yourself or others.
